Job Title: Commercial Manager
Division: Sift Media, Business Division
Location: Bristol (working from home during restrictions)
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) 

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum

We’re on the lookout for a talented, experienced Sales professional with a proven track record of driving revenue growth in digital media to help drive new client conversations and create new revenue opportunities within the Marketing, HR and Learning and Development professions. 

There are significant growth opportunities within our markets, both in the UK and overseas, so we’re looking for a dynamic, self-starting individual who can make inroads with new clients; including new market entrants. With a strong focus on diversifying our revenue profile; your focus will be on selling our high quality insight, content marketing, digital advertising solutions and events, including new digital products that we’ll be rolling out in 2021 and beyond.

You’ll be comfortable with selling a range of marketing solutions, offering a consultative, challenge-led sales approach. You will have the ability to get under the skin of a client’s business and show them how to engage with our audiences and drive awareness, engagement and new business leads.

Reporting into the Head of Sales and Delivery, and working closely with the client services team, you’ll need to be a positive, results-driven individual with discipline, drive and tenacity. You’ll have previous sales or media experience, working within a team environment, and be proficient in proposal writing as well as having excellent phone sales skills.  

You may be a Sales Executive or Manager within a media sales, an advertising agency or in-house environment with a proven track record, looking for your next career move within a fast-paced digital media company.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Client Services Manager who’s ready to take on a new challenge within a publication which has continued to grow and evolve throughout this year. It’s an exciting time to join us as we continue to adapt our products and services to suit the needs of both our audience and clients. 

The role will play a key part in the AccountingWEB team as you’ll be assigned a number of key client accounts to take full ownership and responsibility of. The role requires someone who can multitask and manage various client campaigns at any one time ensuring each one meets the client’s expectations, from both a service and results perspective. The Client Services Manager will also work closely with the sales team to clarify client needs and support them with the production of compelling, fit-for-purpose campaign proposals to upsell existing clients and help convert sales opportunities into bookings.

Reporting to the Account Director, the Client Services Manager will sit within a core Delivery Team of four individuals, where they’ll be responsible for day-to-day management of a wide range of multi-channel client campaigns, championing excellent customer service and be driven to achieve delivery and commercial targets.

Application Task

We’d like to review your planning and organisation skills. The task is split into two sections.

  1. We are working with a brand new client and you need to arrange a campaign kick-off call with them. Can you tell us how you would structure the call and what questions you would ask them and why. (Max 200 words)

2. A client has booked multi-channel activity to run over a 6 month period including x4 emails, 100k display impressions, 1 podcast & 2 sponsored articles. Please create a timeline for this campaign. This should include deadlines, activity dates and any other touchpoints you think are essential.

This task is designed to demonstrate your ability to onboard new customers and ensure they have a good first experience with us from the initial kick-off call through to the planning and execution of their campaign.

Job Title: Junior Account Executive
Division: Sift Business (MyCustomer, HRZone & TrainingZone)

Salary: £18,000 – £20,000 per annum depending on experience

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Junior Account Executive to join a dynamic digital B2B publisher and work on a range of client accounts. Experience in a similar role would be desirable, but not essential. 

With strong project management skills, you’ll be responsible for the co-ordination of our digital campaigns. You’ll need to be competent with digital reporting; able to analyse results in order to optimise campaigns and ensure we deliver the results our clients want. 

Reporting into the Account Director and working alongside the Account Executive, the Junior Account Executive will work within the Sift Business team, ensuring that our internal processes and systems are geared to deliver campaign activity as efficiently and effectively as possible. 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivery of active digital and lead generative campaigns from concept to completion. 
  • Planning and scheduling campaign activity and deliverables.
  • Managing client expectations around delivery and results. 
  • Client and internal team briefings on campaign requirements. 
  • All aspects of client campaign delivery; campaign kick-off calls, campaign update calls/emails/meetings, campaign debrief meetings, copy-chasing, etc. 
  • Monitoring campaign results to optimise active campaigns. 
  • Analysis and reporting on campaign performance; compiling and communicating campaign results to clients as needed (in reporting documents or Excel).
  • Communicate and input best practice internally to optimise advertising performance.
  • Weekly campaign status reporting to Account Director; identifying opportunities, blockers and areas where support is needed. 
  • Quality checking and uploading of client lead reports; including uploading reports to external client systems.

Job Title: Commercial Editor – AccountingWeb
Job Function: Content

We are looking for a creative and organised Commercial Editor to help us create highly engaging content and products across multiple channels for a wide range of clients in the accounting and finance space, from brainstorm through to delivery. 

Working closely with the Sales and Delivery team, you will react to client briefs with a wide selection of smart, relevant ideas that excite the client and the audience alike, designed to drive brand awareness, relevance and partner engagement. These can be traditional digital and print products such as articles, white paper or downloadable guides or taking advantage of our new range of interactive content types including podcasts, webinars and video content.

As Commercial Editor, you will be responsible for pitching, commissioning, creating and editing content concepts, working closely with the editorial and sales teams to help create and produce highly engaging content and products aimed at different audiences that drive brand awareness, relevance and partner engagement.

Working closely with Delivery and Marketing, the role will also be responsible for the coordination of all our commercial products – from resourcing and commissioning content creators to sign off from multiple stakeholders –  with all products delivered on time and to budget. 

Reporting to the Content Director of Sift, you will be driven by the belief that our commercial products can be as valid, relevant and award-winning as our editorial ones. You will be able to excite and enthuse clients, selling in concepts and ideas that meet their commercial needs while always remaining relevant and engaging for the AccountingWEB audience. 

What we’d like from you:

  • Solid experience producing commercial content (written articles, infographics, white papers, features and interviews) working with designers and contributors in an agency-like setting
  • Solid experience producing in audio-visual content (podcasts, interactive video-based content (webinars, live Q&As, panel, roundtables)), from content research to talent management to platform onboarding.
  • Dedication to driving the surrounding processes that make commercial content a success, including content calendar, SEO-driven companion articles, social promotion, smart scheduling, proactive marketing and reacting to audience data and analytics.
  • Experience in the systems each channel requires: print (Creative Suite), digital (web CMS), social (Buffer) and interactive (BigMarker, ON24).
  • Ability to engage a client with quality of idea and strength of conviction, with the desire and commercial acumen to want to win new business
  • Good interpersonal skills for managing internal stakeholders or external clients
  • Excellent communication skills, and work well in a team environment whilst working to tight deadlines 
  • Ability to be resourceful, adaptable with a positive attitude.
  • The ability to work at pace, hit the ground running and pick up new skills fast
  • Strong multi-tasking / project management skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and put those around you at ease during deadline
  • Experience of monitoring budgets
